Carolina Cannabinoids LLC is a research focused company located at the Nevada Center for Applied Research in the University of Nevada, Reno.
Our main focus of research and formulation development is the activation of Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptors (PPARs) in our bodies to achieve optimal health outcomes. PPAR receptors (Alpha, Beta and Gamma) control chronic inflammation and metabolic disorders such as insulin resistance. Cannabinoids, plant derived Terpenes, Omega-3 Fatty acids such as Alpha-Linolenic Acid, CoQ 10, Carotene and Tocotrienols have shown to activate PPAR receptors. By activating PPARS, we seek to minimize Chronic Low-Grade Inflammation and Oxidative Stress while improving Insulin Sensitivity.
We utilize Cannabinoids obtained from Hemp, such as CBD, THC and Terpenes. More important to our formulations are the non-Cannabis derived Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA). PEA is a Cannabinoid that is endogenously produced by our own bodies to cope with inflammation. PEA is also naturally found in foods such as egg yolk, soybeans, and milk.
Other important ingredients in our formulations are fat soluble vitamins such as Carotene complex, Tocotrienols (Vitamin E), Vitamin D3, Vitamin K2-MK7, CoQ 10 along with Omega-3 Fatty Acids (Alpha-Linolenic Acid) derived from Flax. All of these ingredients activate the three types of PPAR receptors.
Our products are water dispersible and utilize a Self-Micro Emulsifying Delivery System (SMEDS) to enhance bio-availability of our ingredients. We only use plant derived natural emulsifiers and we DO NOT use synthetic emulsifiers such as Polysorbates (TWEEN 20 or TWEEN 80). The presence of terpenes imparts a pleasant flavor and aroma to our formulations. They can be added to any warm beverage such as Green Tea and consumed for enhanced absorption through the Gastrointestinal Tract.
To patrons who do not wish to consume THC, we offer THC free (Broad Spectrum) options. To those that seek to consume THC, we offer Full Spectrum options with under 0.3% THC.
We recognize that some patrons may be unable to consume Hemp derived CBD due to risk of testing positive in THC drug tests. We therefore offer Cannabis free formulations that does not contain any Hemp derived Cannabinoids.
To ensure quality, we conduct extensive third-party lab tests on our production batches to measure potency and to ensure that our products are free of contaminants such as pesticides, fungicides, mycotoxins, microbial impurity and heavy metals. We publish third-party lab test results on our website and we share the results with licensed medical doctors and naturopathic physician collaborators who can guide patients that are interested in consuming our products.
Our manufacturing facility is GMP Compliant to ensure utmost cleanliness and hygiene in all of our manufacturing operations.
